Sugar Defender Safety & Interactions
Several reported ingredients can matter with diabetes medicine, and guarana adds caffeine.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use, and read your label.
Low blood sugar with diabetes medicine
Gymnema, eleuthero and chromium have each been studied for blood sugar effects. Combined with insulin, sulfonylureas or other glucose-lowering medicine, they could push blood sugar too low. Ask your care team before use and never change a prescription yourself.
Caffeine, heart and sleep
Guarana adds caffeine in an unknown amount. People with heart rhythm problems, high blood pressure, anxiety or poor sleep, and anyone sensitive to caffeine, should be careful. Reported effects of this product include jitters, a fast heartbeat, anxiety and insomnia.
Blood pressure medicine
Coleus and ginseng-type herbs can affect blood pressure, so they can matter with blood pressure medicine.
Stomach, pregnancy and youth
Some users report stomach upset when taking it without food. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and anyone under 18 should not use it without medical advice, and no safety data for the finished product was found.
